Windhoek
June 2008 10 |
Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, is a rather small and uninspiring town. This begins with the airport, which has about the size of a provincial airport, and with an amount of empty land between the airport and the city that even in the most optimistic dreams will not be built-up within this century. On a sunday afternoon not much is going on in Windhoek. Even the cafes and ice cream shops close. There is not much to see: some pompous colonial buildings without style. It is the place to stock up on drinkable water, biltong and cash, though.
