The town across the river is Newport, Kentucky, and the building next to the purple bridge is a shopping and entertainment area called "Newport on the Levee". Behind this area (just outside of the picture) is the factory of Graeter's ice cream. The purple bridge is now limited to pedestrians and cyclists.
