Cowrie Shell, Hin Bida
A cowrie shell outside the shell. To feed, the cowrie shell wraps its body aroudn the shell. The "skin" is actually its stomach. It is digesting whatever food it finds in the vicinity. After feeding, it will withdraw again into the shell. That is why cowrie shells are so smooth - the animal sort of polishes it with its body.
